Fresh from finishing their high school finals to start their summer break, Jacob and Emma Hardin land jobs at the local public aquarium to care for a batch of unhealthy leafy sea dragons on loan from the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. Their task is to figure out a way to transform the fish into healthy specimens. They are especially excited about the challenge because of the chance to enter the fish in an international competition being held in London later in the summer if they are successful. The vulnerable fish species is also the gleam in Milan Peflant’s eye as part of his hobby to possess exotic contraband. When an order he places with Seth Powers goes awry during an Australian SCUBA dive, he dispatches his trusted bodyguard, Pavel Bilak, to steal a supply of sea dragons for his collection. When Pavel’s attempts turn futile, he is instructed to attend the London competition and steal the best of show winners. Pavel is accompanied by Seth and the two devise a way to steal the competition’s winning exhibit as well as kill the remaining sea dragon entries. Jacob and Emma catch onto the two perpetrators and try to stop them on a wild chase in the London subway.
